Cutie Sunday Challenge!

Here is my entry for the Cutie Sunday Challenge which was a great sketch! I have used some of the new Anita's Christmas papers and a Sugar Nellie stamp adding ribbon to finish her off. I coloured her in with Distress inks and added a simple silver greeting. This was the first time I have had a go at this challenge and I really enjoyed it! Thanks for looking!xx

Papertake Weekly Challenge-Cool Yule!!

The Papertake Weekly Challenge this week was to make a Christmas card! I decided to do just a quick, simple and slightly minimalistic(!) card! I used the new papers from Dovecraft which are just adorable and mounted some of the design onto gold mirri card in order to make toppers! I then finished it off with a bit of ribbon. Only took me about 10 minutes to make so when it gets to November and I'm struggling to get everyone a card made, this is perfect for last minute crafting! Lol!xx

Dottie's World-Animal Magic Challenge!

I have had a go at another challenge today over at Dottie's World. The challenge was to make a card with an animal on it or Dotty/ George dressed up as an animal. I decided to use this very cute image of Dottie dressed up as a Robin as I am on a roll with my Christmas cards at the mo! The image was already coloured in so I mounted her on some textured card stock and used some of the new Anita's Christmas papers. I finished her off with a bit of ribbon and a round greeting stamp. Thanks for looking!xx

Sketch Saturday Challenge!

Here is my entry for the Saturday Sketch Challenge that I have taken part in on Sunday! Lol! Go have a look-it is brill! It was a great sketch and one which I will use a lot. This card is also for my Mum's challenge that she set me and my sister this afternoon which was to make an oriental card with flowers. I don't usually make a lot of oriental cards but think that this Geisha girl is very cute. I coloured her in with distress inks and Dovecraft pens and mounted her onto some bassil bling cardstock and some patterned paper I 'borrowed' from my Mum's craft box! I finished her off with some flowers and a simple greeting. Thanks for looking!xx

And still we craft on...!

Today has been a lovely sunny day and after a little craft shopping, my Mum, sister and I sat down for yet another crafting marathon! After purchasing the new Dovecraft Christmas papers, which are gorgeous,-if you haven't seen them check out Trimcraft!-we couldn't wait to start crafting with them! Rather than just crafting today, we each set a challenge. My Mum's was to make an Oriental card with flowers, Lindsay's was to make a card without using ink, flowers and buttons and mine was to make a card using three patterned papers and it must contain some ribbon or flowers! Our challenges are below! Hope you enjoy looking!

Here is my Mum's card for her challenge-an oriental card with flowers. She has used a gorgeous fan stamp, some oriental papers from a create and craft pack and some Prima flowers attached with some oriental brads from Papermania.

This is my Mum's entry for Lindsay's challenge-not to use ink, flowers or buttons! She has used the Paddington Bear stamp free this month with Quick Cards Made Easy magazine, coloured in with Dovecraft pens. He is sooo cute!!

And here is my Mum's entry for my challenge-to use three patterned papers and to use either flowers/ ribbons. She has used a gorgeous Joanna Sheen stamp and a cuddly buddly greeting stamp. She has coloured the main image in with distress inks and has mounted it on Dovercraft papers. Finished off with some Prima flowers! This baby is adorable!

This card is Lindsay's card for her own challenge-to use no inks, flowers or buttons! She has used a Joanna Sheen stamp and coloured it in with Whispers pens. She has very cleverly made a frame for her image tucking the card into the corners! She has also used the new Dovecraft Christmas papers which are scrumptious! The tag on the ribbon also is out of the paper pack and she has finished it off with some Papermania brads.

This is Lindsay's card for my Mum's challenge-an oriental card with flowers. She has used a Woodware stamp and coloured her in with distress inks. She has mounted her onto some bassil bling cardstock and has added some gorgeous bright flowers from Prima secured onto the card with some Papermania brads! Love this image-it is so sweet!

This is Lindsay's card for my challenge-use three patterned papers and some flowers or ribbon. She has used a cute Tilda stamp and has paper pieced her with one of her patterned paper being her dress. She has then mounted her onto another of the new Dovecraft papers and cut another piece of patterned paper acting as a type of ribbon near the bottom of the card. She has finished it off with some Prima flowers and some buttons.

Here is my card for my challenge-use three patterned papers and flowers or ribbons. I used a Penny Black Christmas stamp with some very cute hedgehogs which I coloured in with distress inks. I also used the new Dovecraft Christmas papers and mounted them onto some silver mirri card so you could appreciate each pattern as they were merging into each other before! Then I finished it off with some flowers and a simple sentiment. This is the layout for the Sketch Saturday challenge which I have had a go at today. I liked it so much I thought I would have another go! I shall post my entry later as it is also my card for my Mum's challenge as it is in an oriental style!
This is my card for Lindsay's challenge-not to use inks, flowers and buttons. I have used the new Dovecraft papers and have cut one of the sheets down to make three little toppers. I mounted them onto some gold mirri board and finished it off with some ribbon down the side. It is quite a simple card but I really like the effect! These papers are soo cute-once you see them you will have to have some so be warned!

Hope you have enjoyed looking through our cards! Sorry the photos aren't too good. My camera doesn't want to play at the minute! Hehe! It would be lovely to hear your comments!xx

Another craft day!!

Today my Mum, sister and I have had a bit of a craft day! I concentrated on catching up with some challenges which are in previous posts but I have uploaded some pictures of what my Mum and sister have made today as they don't have their own blogs. The card below was made by my sister Lindsay who is only 15 but I think it is fab. She coloured Tilda in with distress inks and decorated the card with some ribbon and Papermania buttons.

Lindsay also made some ATCs. This one was using a Sugar Nellie stamp decorating her with buttons and ribbon again. I think these are really funky colours for Christmas!

She also made one with a Funky Fairy stamp! She has also used very funky colours for this one! Really bright and summery! She coloured her in with Whispers pens and decorated her with some Prima flowers!

My Mum has also been busy! She has made three cards. In the one below she has used a gorgeous Joanna Sheen stamp with a little boy sitting with his Mum. She coloured the image in with distress inks and then added a verse and some ribbon for decoration.

Her next one was very glittery and green! She used a Magnolia stamp, coloured in with distress inks. This was then mounted onto some gorgeous, glittery, green paper and she added some Anita's Christmas ribbon and a large Christmas brad to finish it off.

Her last creation-so far anyway(!)-was in her favourite colour! Everything purple! Lol! Again she has used a Tilda stamp and has coloured her in with distress inks and has stamped some steps for her to sit on. She is very sweet. She has added some gorgeous pink and purple Prima flowers and finished her off with a simple greeting!

Hope you have enjoyed looking through their creations!xx

Friday Sketchers Challenge!

This is my last make of the day today-so far anyway! Here is my entry for the Friday Sketchers Challenge. This was a great sketch to follow and I will definitely use this again. I have used a Magnolia stamp and coloured her in with distress inks. Behind her I have used some of the new Papermania Christmas papers and some organza ribbon as well as finishing her off with a greeting and some flowers. Thanks for looking!xx

Cute Card Thursday Challenge!

For the Cute Card Thursday Challenge this week the theme was 'Things that grow.' I went for something a little different and used a little boy stamp from Joanna Sheen who is climbing up the stairs. Hope this passes as something that grows! My thinking is that this is one of the moments that show your child is 'growing up' when they first start climbing up the stairs! I think this is such a cute image and he has his little teddy with him for moral support-ok maybe I'm taking the story a bit far now! Lol! Anyway I coloured him in with distress inks and just used some nice textured card stock to matt and layer him with. Just to finish it off I added a bit of organza ribbon down the side and some Prima flowers in the bottom corner. I finished it off with a Chinese proverb inside the card that I thought went really well with the stamp! Thanks for looking!xx

Funky Fairys Challenge!

Finally I have been able to get back to my challenges! Lol! I haven't been very well over the past few days so haven't felt like doing anything but have tried to craft a little today as my Mum and sister are here visiting and we have been crafting whilst watching QVC Christmas Craft day! Here is my entry for the Funky Fairy Challenge. This week you needed to create a card which contained a stamp or papers from Funky Fairys and include some real or faux stitching. I used a funky fairy stamp that I have reacently purchased and have attempted some faux stitching! Hope it passes as being faux stitching-think I need to work on my technique a little more! Lol! I have used some brightly coloured papers that I found in my craft box, flowers and buttons to decorate and have coloured her in with Whispers pens. The 'Happy Birthday' stamp is from Cuddly Buddly. Thanks for looking!xx

Papertake Weekly Challenge!!

Here is my card for the Papertake Weekly Challenge which was a great sketch by Katharina! I went for a colourful theme with this card as I found a stash of paper at the bottom of my craftbox! I used a penny black stamp which I coloured in with distress inks and then went a bit mad with my doodling around the edges! I really am addicted to these challenges now! Which one is next...! Lol!

Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge!

I made this ATC for the Tilda & Friends ATC challenge. It is the same stamp that I used for the Tilda & Co challenge but I think this ATC has more of a country looking feel! Maybe it's the gingham ribbon...! Anyway the challenge this week is to include buttons anywhere on your ATC so I found some cute little pink buttons in my craft box and that gave me my colour scheme! I have coloured her in with distressed inks and the buttons, ribbon and greeting all came from a Papermania embellishment set that I have had for ages and never really used! This is my first ATC that I have made in ages and I really enjoyed doing it-why did I ever stop making them?!!

Tilda & Co Challenge!

After completing my first challenge yesterday, I was hungry for more! I then found the Tilda & Co challenge! I love my Tilda stamps and my Mum kindly bought this one for me recently so thought it was the perfect opportunity for me to try it out! I have used distress inks to colour her in (her top is green-looks yellow on the pic!), Anita's papers and ribbon and a 'Big Hugs' stamp that I bought off cuddlybuddly which arrived this morning! The challenge was to include a bug somewhere on your card. This really was quite a challenge as I couldn't find anything that had any type of bug on! Then I raided my brads as I remembered I had some beautiful dragonfly brads and added it to my card! I think I will be using this stamp a lot in the future she is very sweet!

Crafting evening with Becky!

Last night I went round to my good friend Becky's house for a little craft night! We often have these and usually we end up gossiping all night rather than crafting but last night we managed to multi-task and craft whilst gossiping! Lol! These are the cards that I made with my new baking Tilda stamp. She is so cute and could be used for so many different occassions but of course I used her for Christmas last night! I used Anita's Christmas papers and ribbon and coloured her in with distress inks. Becky was giving me lots of hints and tips as always- she is so creative! She showed me how to do the scalloped edge on my cards as well as suggesting putting the ribbon on! Check out her blog for more great ideas as she is very talented! Becky made a Polly Christmas card and finished off a fat book page for a challenge. We had a great night-it is so nice getting together to craft and to put the world to right! I didn't get home till 11:30pm! Hey ho!

A Spoon Full of Sugar-My first attempt at a challenge!!

Here is my first attempt at the Spoon Full of Sugar challenge! This week there was a sketch to follow but you could do any theme that you wanted. I went for Christmas as I have been on a roll with my Christmas cards recently. Of course I included a sugar nellie stamp and I think this image is very sweet. I used some pearlescent card and Anita's new Christmas papers. I coloured her in with distress inks and added a simple greeting and some flowers just to tie all of the colours together. Hope you like it!

My first award!!

My lovely friend Becky has given me this fab award! Isn't it great? I am so chuffed! Thank you so much! My first award!! Woohoo!!

Funky Fairies Amazing Blog Candy!

On the Funky Fairy Inspirations blog at the mo they have a fabby blog candy to give away! You can win a years worth of funky fairy papercrafts products! A whole year wow! That would save all of us crafters some money! I have only just found their site and blog but their products are great! All you have to do is leave a comment-what are you waiting for!

New stamps!

Here are a couple of cards I have made over the last couple of days using my new funky fairy stamps and Polly and Pip stamps that I have also bought recently! They are very cute! The funky fairy stamps are available from their website and Polly and Pip belong to Clevercut! I have messed around with colours and layouts again and not sure if they are quite right yet but ok for my first play with them!

Here is one of the funky fairy stamps! She is so cute. I coloured her hair in black so she is a bit of a gothic style fairy! I think she is adorable. This was my first card with them so I kept it simple just using some bassil cardstock and a happy birthday stamp. Still think she needs a little something extra-maybe it is time to get my flowers out again!

This is one of my Pip stamps from clevercut. A cool dude! He is great for cards for teenage boys. Stamped really well and was great to colour in-with distress inks of course! Been hooked ever since my friend introduced me to them! As this is for a boy I didn't think it was approriate to decorate with flowers and couldn't think what else to use so I stapled bits of brown ribbon on to tie in with the colours but am not sure whether I like them or not. I have ordered some large brads in neutral, masculine colours so I will be able to use those next time to fill in the gap!

This was another card made with my funky fairies stamp but in more of a pinky girlie style! (You will notice I have lots of pink and girlie cards!) I think she looks really sweet in pink and blonde hair. I tried another new layout with this card and introduced circles! Then I finished it off with some flowers from Joanna Sheen's website and 'for a special friend' stamp as a greeting.
Can't wait to play with these stamps again soon! At the moment I am ploughing my way through schemes of work and mid-term plans trying to get myself organised for September! Crafting has been put on the sidelines for a little while-at least during the day, I may have to take a few hours off in the evening...!

Crafty Bitz galore!

Today I have still been making Christmas cards!! I know I think I am obsessed! My good friend bought me a Christmas Crafty Bitz embellishment set last year and I had some left so I decided to use some more of it up today! Hope you like them!

I made two of nearly all of these cards. One of those was this one. The cards are already printed on so all you have to do is embellish them! I'm not usually one for sequins but I really like them on this card! They add a little bit of sparkle!

Again the card already had this design on but was blank in the middle. I think these little circle designs are very cute. I attached them to a background coloured circle with a brad which gives the card a little bit of movement.

This snowman is very cute and again the snowflakes add a bit of glitz! All of these elements were part of the kit so you have everything you need including the cards and envelopes.

I liked this card so much I made three of them! The trees are lovely-they are foiled and have glitter on. I added one of the yellow (or gold!) sequins to make it look like a star at the top of the tree and added a bit of ribbon down the side.

I think this card is really classy! Gold and cream Christmas tree. The only thing extra I really did on this card was to wrap a little bit of gold beading (also included in the kit) around the tree embellishment!

I love this teddy bear! I think he is far too cute to be on a card! I just want to look at him!

Here are some more of those circle embellishments! The Santa and Rudolph are very sweet! Again I have attached them with brads so that there is a bit of movement on the card.

This snowman is very cute-he is looking up at the sky waiting for Santa! Lol! Again I have added silver sequins-hopefully that look like snowflakes! I made a couple of this one too-couldn't resist his little face!
Hope you enjoyed looking!

Wedding plans update!

As you may have read I have recently got engaged and we have decided to get married in 2010. I wasn't going to start planning anything till next year but loads of people keep telling me to start looking around for things now, especially venues. I didn't need that much of an excuse to start planning so Steven and I are going to talk about possible reception venues at the weekend and decide exactly what we want. I have found a place in Leek that I really like but is a bit expensive. As most of my family will be travelling and will need somewhere to stay, we thought a hotel would be the best type of venue to go for! It is called The Three Horseshoes Inn and Country Hotel! I will keep you posted on where else we are thinking of as feel this one might be out of our price range a little!

Dotty about Dottie!!

My dear friend Becky gave me some lovely images of Dottie and I have been playing with them today. I think they make great cards and they are so sweet! These are Christmas ones but I do have some others that would be good for birthday cards that I shall be crafting with over the next few days so watch out for those!

Dottie as a robin! This is such a cute image! They were images that were already coloured in and I played around with another layout. Of course I added some gorgeous flowers-love the colour of this one. The 'Merry Christmas' stamp is one of a set I got from Partners a while ago.

Dottie ice skating-this image is great and it allowed me to get all my chilly blue papers out and flowers to have a play with! This was a bigger image so I used an A5 card. The stamps of 'Winter Wonderland' and the snowflakes are from Dovecraft and were some of their mini 99p stamps from last year!

I think this is George dressed up as Santa! This is one of the layouts that I was using yesterday and the same flowers and stamp from earlier cards. You can't make Christmas cards without some sort of Father Christmas!

This is Dottie and George underneath the mistletoe! My friend was saying that this image, when it is black and white, has been used for anniversary cards. So rather than colouring them in in festive colours, colour them in whatever colour you like and replace the mistletoe with a heart! What a good idea! I think they make a very cute couple!

This is another cute image of Dottie in the snow. I tried out another layout here. I like it but I think my greeting is a bit too big so shall try to remember that next time. I put ribbon down the side of the card which gives it a bit of texture. I have a feeling that I am warming to the blue colours for my cards this year...!

This is another of my fave images of Dottie-I love them all!lol! She looks so cute as a Christmas tree! This card looks a bit plain but I don't think it looks too bad! Minimalistic! Hope you liked looking at my Dottie cards!
